Cast aluminium parts for power equipment

Aluminium is a main material in high- and medium-voltage power equipment – and one with particular characteristics. In addition to the fine surface, which gets copper or silver coated, the alloy's electrical conductivity is an important parameter.

Aluminium is a very good conductor of electricity and thus enables power to be carried with relatively little loss. The specific weight of aluminium is below that of copper. It is also appreciably cheaper. In power equipment it is therefore playing a growing role.
